My dad is a martial arts instructor, so from the age of 7 until I was 20 I grew up practicing martial arts 3-4 times a week. In my first year of university, I was so busy studying, that I stopped my martial arts training and also started eating lots of crappy foods at school and eating out a lot. Within 1 year, I gained 13 lbs and I didn't like the way I looked. On January 1st 2010 I decided to get fit, so I joined the university gym. I spent my first 3 months learning and reading about all the basics (exercises, nutrition, supplements) from fitness magazines and online websites. I dropped 15 lbs of fat in my first 6 months by eating clean balanced meals and training 3-4x per week. After seeing such good results and loving the way weight training made me feel, I was hooked and I never stopped since.
Fitness can mean different things to different people. To me fitness means building an aesthetic body while maximizing performance. I want to be stronger, faster and more endurant while keeping a lean aesthetic physique year round.
My training plan changes throughout the year. In one phase I will do powerlifting and powerbuilding to maximize strenght. The next phase will consist off typical hypertrophy bodybuilding to add shape and build that bikini hourglass shape with nice round glutes, lean legs, small waist and nicely shaped shoulders and back. The final phase will usually be more intense interval or circuit training to burn more calories, maximise fat loss and achieve a lean body look for a fitness competition.
I have worked as a Personal trainer in a women's only gym for 3 years and also worked with online clients from different backrounds. Personally, my programs have helped me achieve a winning physique within my 1st year of competiting, winning 2 x CBBF Bikini Champion National Titles in my height category. In my offseason, I was also able to bench press 125lbs, squat 215lbs, deadlift 235lbs, do 8 chinups and hip thrust 315lbs at 125lbs bodyweight.
